Carl Read’s Inspirational Story On Stuff.co.nz and The Dirt Church Podcast

This week our Aloe Up Ambassador Carl Read made it onto news website Stuff.co.nz and featured on The Dirt Church, a local kiwi trail running podcast.

We all know Carl as the Flying Mullet! A professional athlete who seems to excel in the toughest multisport events such as Ironman, Ultraman and Ultramarathon! But few know how humble Carl’s start in the sport really was. Carl describes himself in his mid-twenties as overweight and unhealthy and remembers barely able to swim one length in the pool when he first started training for triathlon.

Carl decided to try his first triathlon in 2007 to help make some healthy changes to his life. Before long he was off to age-group world champ and by 2012 Carl was racing professionally in Europe.

We won’t spoil the whole story, for that we highly recommend checking out the The Dirt Church Podcast to hear Carl tell it in his own words or read the article on Stuff.co.nz

Carl’s story is quite the inspiration. Just goes to show where a bit of hard work and a positive attitude can take you. We hope you can take something from it and use it to help reach your own goals.

We’re so proud to call Carl Read an Aloe up Ambassador!
